MetroWest Water Gardens wins
multiple awards at
the 2007 New England Flower Show
March 2007
Boston,
Mass – The theme for the 2007 New England Flower Show held at the
Bayside Expo Center in Boston was "Yes You Can!", so the talents of
professional pond builders MetroWest Water Gardens of Hopedale, Mass. and
BayState Aquascapes of Kingston, Mass., along with the help of several
other New England-based
Certified Aquascape Contractors and several landscape lighting
specialists, created a captivating exhibit featuring a large water garden,
multiple natural-looking waterfalls and even a small pondless waterfall to let the show
visitors know that "Yes you can have a beautiful water feature in your own
backyard."

"Our exhibit featured the most elaborate water features in the show and
allowed the show guests to view the water features from "inside the house"
via a living room cross section, as well as from a backyard vantage point. We
made sure that there were many different enjoyable features to our exhibit with
some awesome specimen-sized trees and shrubs, flowering perennials and even a
life-size brass sculpture of an owl by artist Chris Williams of Essex, Mass."
said Tom Frost, owner of MetroWest Water Gardens.

“Much
like our success in previous flower shows, the waterfalls, the pond, and the
koi, which the children really enjoyed feeding and watching, were all a big
hit. The pond even featured a small row boat which, along with the friendly koi
really made the exhibit one of the favorites for the many show attendees that
stopped by."

The water feature exhibit garnered two major awards at
the show:
-
The Massachusetts Horticulture Silver Medal
-
The Mary McQuillin Cup for the best design
combination of an indoor and outdoor exhibit
"We are very proud of the awards we received but,
more importantly, we are even more proud to have so many of the show attendees
compliment us for our outstanding display" said Frost.
Frost
added "we could not have completed such an elaborate exhibit is such a short
time by ourselves. We had help from all of the other
CACs in Massachusetts, Rhode
Island and New Hampshire including
Domina's Agway (RI),
Something Fishy (RI),
Taplin Landscaping (MA),
Picture Perfect Ponds (MA),
DragonFly Ponds (MA), and
Aquascapes of New Hampshire (NH). Additionally, we had a couple
landscape lighting experts in Lightscapes By Design and BISCO extend their
expertise in "lighting things up" and
Archie's Island Furniture allowed us to use some of their "fun" furniture to top
things off. We would really like to extend a warm-hearted "thank you" to them
for all of their help with creating the exhibit."
