MetroWest Water Gardens Team Takes First
Place in the Inaugural Central Mass Waterfall Building Contest
March 2, 2008
Worcester, Mass –
The team of MetroWest Water Gardens (Hopedale, Mass.) and Picture Perfect Ponds (Westfield, Mass.) combined to
design and create a pondless waterfall that was awarded first place in a waterfall building contest held "live" during
the Central Mass Flower and Patio Show.
"It was a lot of fun to compete against other companies, and the addition of building
the display "live" in front of the Flower Show attendees made it extra special"
said Tom Frost, owner of MetroWest Water Gardens. "The
contest format was
fun and challenging. All of the teams are given the same exact waterfall components, space and landscape materials
and had five hours to turn a pile of loam
into something special."

Tom Frost of MetroWest Water Gardens and Jeff Paquette of Picture Perfect Ponds hold up their blue ribbon
in front of their award-winning display.
"Working
with Jeff Paquette and Craig Beck from Picture Perfect Ponds was an absolute pleasure.
Those guys are fun, creative and have a lot of waterfall building experience between
them" adds Frost. "Together we tried to create a water feature that was as
different and as unique as possible given that all four competing companies were
given the exact same set of materials to start with." The plan worked and
the flower show attendees voted the MetroWest\Picture Perfect waterfall as their
favorite.
The team of MetroWest Water Gardens and Picture Perfect Ponds also teamed up to
build the water feature for the Flower Show's central exhibit, which won the "People's
Choice Award" for being the favorite of all the attendees that voted during the
three day Flower Show. The water feature included a 22' x 24' pond, a beautiful
waterfall and a 20' stream that meandered under a small bridge. The water garden
included some aquatic plantings and some friendly koi.
